Custom 3D printed enclosures: Raspberry Pi, PCB and project cases
Upload the case you designed, or one from a maker library, and Sync 3D prints it in London in engineering-grade PETG, posted anywhere in the UK. Enclosures are among the most common orders here: base-and-lid sets for single-board computers, sensor housings, battery boxes, display bezels and control-panel fronts.
Prices and facts checked 24 October 2026: parts from £3.50, PETG £0.18 a gram all-in, delivery from £2.70 (large letter for thin parts) or £5.45 tracked (free over £40), no VAT, dispatch within 48 hours.

Design notes an engineer will check for you
- Walls: 1.6 to 2.4 mm is the sweet spot in PETG; under 1.2 mm flexes and shows light through.
- Snap fits: PETG tolerates them well; allow 0.2 to 0.3 mm clearance and a 45° lead-in. Press fits for heat-set brass inserts should be 0.2 mm under the insert diameter.
- Tolerance: ±0.2 mm, so model connector cut-outs 0.4 mm oversize for a comfortable fit.
- Ventilation and heat: PETG softens at about 75°C; a Pi under load is fine, a power resistor against the wall is not. Add vent slots over hot components.
- Orientation: open face down for a clean top; we choose it for strength and tell you if a feature needs a support that will mark a visible face.
What we do not certify
Enclosures are supplied as printed parts, not as tested products. PETG has no flame rating, so mains-voltage equipment should sit in a rated enclosure or on a non-flammable carrier inside the print. If you sell a product containing the case, the safety and marking duties are yours.
Questions people ask
How much does a 3D printed Raspberry Pi case cost in the UK?
At Sync 3D a base-and-lid Pi case of about 45 g is £8.10 to print in PETG, and £10.80 to £13.55 delivered depending on thickness. Upload your own case file or one from a maker library; the price appears in 30 seconds.
Which material is best for an electronics enclosure?
PETG for most: tough, slightly flexible for snap fits, usable to about 75°C and fine outdoors. ASA for long sun exposure and TPU for soft bumpers are being added. PETG has no flame rating, so mains equipment needs a rated enclosure inside.
Can you add threaded inserts or cut-outs?
Model them in the file and they print as designed: bosses sized 0.2 mm under the heat-set insert, connector cut-outs 0.4 mm oversize. Heat-set insert installation is available on request.
Can you design the enclosure for me?
Yes, through the CAD design service: send the board dimensions, connector positions and mounting holes, or photos with measurements, and an engineer models and prints it. Design time is quoted before any work starts.
